A good low poly car balances a recognizable silhouette against a tight triangle budget. For mobile racing and traffic systems, keep a car between 800 and 2,500 triangles; desktop racers with a chase camera can run 5,000 to 15,000 triangles when the body needs crisp curves and visible interior. The trick with vehicles is spending your polygons on the rooflines, fenders and wheel arches that define the shape, while keeping the underside and interior extremely simple since players rarely see them.

Wheels deserve special attention because they have to spin and steer. The cars here keep each wheel as a separate object with its own pivot centered on the axle, so you can rotate them in code or animation without the body moving. If you plan to drive the car with a physics system in Unity or Godot, that wheel separation lets you attach wheel colliders directly.
