A single simple flower for mobile or WebGL can be as low as 40 to 120 triangles: a 5 or 6 sided stem, a small center disk and 5 flat faceted petals. A cluster of three to five flowers with leaves usually lands between 180 and 500 triangles, while a foreground hero blossom can use 700 to 1,500 triangles for cupped petals, a beveled center and separated leaf shapes. On desktop or console, flower beds should still stay cheap by instancing many small clusters rather than building one unique meadow mesh; a thousand 80 triangle flowers sharing one material can render better than one complex 30,000 triangle unique patch.

Petal layout is the non-obvious detail. If every petal is a perfect flat plane in the same ring, the flower disappears from side view. Give each petal a slight tilt and a crease down the center so the blossom has volume from the player camera and from a top-down isometric camera. Keep the blossom pivot at the junction between stem and head; if you later add a wind animation, the flower head should nod from the stem, not rotate around its own center like a wheel.

For instanced fields, author two meshes: a single hero flower and a small cluster variant with 3 to 5 blossoms. Scatter the cluster for density, then place occasional hero flowers near the camera or path edge. Use vertex colors or a tiny shared atlas for petal color variation instead of separate materials for red, yellow, blue and white flowers. In Unity and Godot, that choice is the difference between one batched meadow and hundreds of tiny material changes.

3D printing flowers has a physical constraint that game exports ignore: stems and petals are thin cantilevers. For FDM, a stylized flower stem should be at least 1.2 to 1.6mm thick, and petals need either a thicker wedge profile or a pose angled upward so they do not print as fragile sheets. Resin can go thinner, roughly 0.6 to 0.8mm, but long stems still snap during washing if they are too narrow. A bouquet prints better as a single fused cluster than as separated stems.
